We were approach by Guinness in 2010 to help launch their brand new product, Black Lager. They tasked us with promoting the beverage in-pub to consumers using digital technology as the main engagement platform.
As a group we decide the best way to do this was to build a bespoke iPad app which could be loaded onto devices for promotional staff to engage with pub customers across the UK and Ireland.
The app allowed users to interact with the iPad and educate them about the new Guinness product and its benefits. Users had to complete a number of tasks including, swiping, tapping and tilting the iPad to receive their complementary bottle. Its was one of the first iPad apps I worked on which I concepted, storyboarded, artworked, while managing the third party development build. Zink Films created the CGI models and animation, while a freelance developer build the apps backend functionality using the iPads unique features.
Example of the app CGI animation when a user taps the screen to begin the engagement.
